Work-free Mothers Day!

Because Mothers Day is the official opening of the gardening season up here, it is typically a busy day with a long list garden chores lined up and waiting for some muscle. Lucky for us (since we were all feeling a little lazy) it was a semi-drizzly and overcast day, so we had no guilt in avoiding work completely today.

Instead we enjoyed a game of Hearts down the road at Big Barn Brewery, accompanied by an adobe chicken food truck and a pretty great band playing in the background. A perfect Mothers Day!

I really just took a picture of this hand for the blog, then I realized it was a good one to shoot the moon, which I did as soon as my daughter and husband contributed the missing Jack and Queen of hearts on an early hand.

Many of the new photos showed cute little Auggie working alongside his dad on the backyard renovations. It looked like both of them were working very intently!
