Hanging up our anniversary present

We took our Grand Hotel carpet square downtown to our rug guys (yes, we have rug guys) to have it cleaned and prepared for hanging. Because of the heavy carpet installation tape sewed in along the back of one side, they could not bind that side (without cutting away some of the piece, which was not an option.) So we had the top and bottom bound in a dusty rose, and they applied a tiny bit of glue to the unbound sides to discourage raveling. Since it would be hanging, we didn’t expect a lot of that.

We hung it over the bathtub using a standard drapery rod and clips. Voila! The perfect place. What an amazing piece to celebrate 37 years!
