Glorious 62!

Contrary to popular opinion, I really love my birthdays these days, maybe more than ever. When I was in school my birthdays allowed me to catch up with my classmates age-wise, so they felt like a big deal for that reason. Later I think it felt a little embarrassing to have anyone celebrating me - I was the one who was supposed to plan celebrations. Awkward.

Now I absolutely love it. Bring on all of the calls, texts, cards, emails. Presents? Sure! Flowers? Yes! Dinner plans? Fun! Having someone else do all of my chores all day? The best thing ever! Getting another year older, reflecting on life? Okay, too!

So thank you to everyone for the love. Life is good. I promise to make the most of another year!

62 on record. Where you’ll find me most winter days - at the puzzle table.

Love my father’s mail experiment. So many cards and letters! It turns out nothing is ever postmarked in Palm Coast, and no matter from where you mail it (your own box, a public mailbox, the actual Palm Coast post office), everything is trucked to Orlando and typically postmarked the next day. When it took 8 days last month to get something postmarked - that was an exception/anomaly/problem!

Four different mailing locations - love the great experimental recordkeeping! However, I would like to note that NONE of the envelopes contained checks for $5,000, very disappointing.

My daily USPS email told me they were coming, all on the same day.

Flowers, cards, presents, nice!

Montana bought me this pewter pitcher for my collection! I completely forgot, but when we were celebrating Montana & Elijah’s birthdays last month, the restaurant used these tall pitchers to refill the water. Montana immediately found one online and apparently bought it. It was an awesome surprise when I opened the package today! I don’t have any pitchers this tall in the collection. PERFECT gift! What a surprise.

I finished up my last puzzle just in time (look at that fashionable chicken lady), because Steve bought me the puzzle below for my birthday, which I had to complete immediately per the Rules of Birthdays. 1,000 pieces and about 5 hours.

Our neighbor Russ stopped by to get some fresh eggs. Love how he greeted me at the front door.

Chester wished me a very happy birthday and didn’t demand nearly the normal amount of belly rubs in exchange.

I’ve also been working on RE-learning my crochet stitches that I learned a year ago, and then tearing them apart and trying again. I figure in another month I’ll be ready to actually start a project for REAL.

Absolute BEST part of the day was Steve doing my chicken chores for me in the morning and afternoon. LOVE this part!

And we topped the birthday celebration off with our traditional evening in an igloo, this time at the Davenport Grand hotel downtown. No snow, but still a great evening of cocktails, appetizer plates, and family conversation!

So many good bites on this table!

Every time we have a night out in a local igloo we wonder why we don’t set one up in our back field!
