Bye bye Yellowstone!
Never fails to impress. Just when we think we know it all, we realize we have new things to discover. And only 7 hours from home!
Inevitably the bison will cross in front of your car. We had them cross 4, 3, 2, and 1 cars ahead of us, but never directly in front of us, despite Steve’s strategic driving paces.
The east end of the park has gorgeous lakes and so shows the remnants one of the huge 1988 wildfires Miles of devastation with an equal amount of nature reforestation working its way up.
We were also SUPER excited that now that Steve is 62 he could finally purchase a Lifetime National Parks Pass! Boy, getting old is really paying off now!
Bye bye, Yellowstone- hope to see you in the fall!
Even our RV park tonight outside Cody includes animal sightings - dairy cows grazing behind our unit! We are looking forward to showers and putting our feet up. We spent the afternoon at the Wild Bill set of museums in Cody and it was literally PHENOMENAL! Its firearms museum alone had over 7,000 guns of all types so beautifully and professionally displayed and archived in multiple levels. There was also a Whitney Western Art museum, a Wild Bill museum, a natural history museum - you need 2 days to go through that amazing place. I’m exhausted, and that camp chair by the friendly cow has my name on it!
Love the full screens that slide over the side door and down in the back. Josie is loving the cross ventilation with me while I read in my front seat swiveled around to face the back. Also handy that we haven’t been closing up the bed on this trip!
