Beartooth Scenic Byway
Two days at Yellowstone and you see so many natural sites and animal sightings -your inner photographer quickly becomes overwhelmed!
The Beartooth Scenic Byway is an offshoot of northeast Yellowstone, and it really lived up to the title “scenic”. The amount of snow still at the top (including a still-operational ski lift with some very hard-core skiers and snowboarders) was really something to see on a warm June day. Five stars!
Once we made it down the mountain we took ANOTHER scenic byway back to camp, the Chief Joseph. Completely different geology. Scenery overload!
Josie got tired of riding in steerage and upgraded herself when I temporarily vacated my seat!
Took the blue ribbon Yellowstone wildlife photo of the trip when we returned to the park. This little guy hung out under my car window just beckoning to be photographed.
Steaks cooked over an open fire, yes!
