Wow windows!

I love our no-need-for-window-covering world up here in the country. But at the same time, I love the nice little pop of color and pattern that window coverings can provide.

I worked with the local pros on this one, and we hit it out of the park! Pleated drapes for the sliding glass door - “non-functional” means they have the look of full drapes without the stack bulk (since I never want or need to actually close them.) Plus they require less fabric this way, which if you know home furnishings fabric adds up to a lot. Matching (also non-functional) Roman shades on the nearby window set. (We already have remote control automated shades under those to block the morning coffee sun.)

The video below shows how the hidden automated blinds work, very cool! They are radio-controlled, so no problem with the new valances.

View from the loft.

Complements the stove tile nicely, too.

Absolutely LOVE this fabric. It has almost a light denim look to it.

Josie approves.

Also, we upgraded Steve’s shower curtain-looking quick curtain in his upstairs loft doors to a gorgeous professional textured red fabric. Unlike the downstairs drapes, these ones are functional, because the afternoon sun can be blinding up there.

The professional hardware and installation and placement and pleating and general workmanship and niceness of the provider were 5 stars all around. The new window coverings look terrific and elevate both spaces!

Hard to tell from a photo, but this fabric is so thick and LUSCIOUS!

The color was selected to match with this rug.

She threw a leftover piece of this beautiful fabric that will coordinate well with both the rug and the new drapes. I’ll see if I can use it to cover a few pillows.
