Winter rainbow

Thanks to a week of (relatively) mild temperatures and rain, all of our snow has been replaced with nice, juicy mud. Rain in February tends to pool pretty significantly on top of the still-frozen ground. So just don’t go near the chicken run in anything short of serious mud boots!

Yesterday afternoon there was a brief rainbow over the mountain, as the sun just edged in under the rain clouds. With the days getting longer and longer, plus daylight savings time returning soon, it is nice to not be completely in the dark at 5pm any longer (these photos were taken at 5:30.)
