Wait, there’s more!
I guess I should have checked the itinerary better, but we got another day in the Tetons and Yellowstone! And you know what that means - more animal pics!
First a photo of the Teton mountains silhouetted against the light of the rising full moon, taken as we were returning to camp last night (the green dot is from my camera):
Then, the same shot taken through a few slightly different lens options, just to capture the view with the midday sun. We can honestly say we have never enjoyed Grand Teton National Park as much as we have this trip!
And finally a moment of geological education: As with those at Glacier National Park, the glaciers here have shrunk about 25% over the past 50 years. But these are the ones that remain: 1 - Teton; 2 - Teepee; and 3 - Middle Glacier. Now you know!
Then another spin through Yellowstone, amazingly capturing even more fun animal photos. First, a close-up encounter with a little black bear cutting across the road and then walking along side our van:
Steve has been trying to perfectly time a bison road crossing the entire trip. He finally succeeded today, with one big guy crossing directly in front of us while the rest of his herd walked by my car window;
We couldn’t pass through the north park entrance without stopping at The Corral, in Gardner, MT. The kids definitely remember the bison burgers at this place:
