Pancake patrol

I took pictures at last Sunday’s monthly Grange all-you-can-eat Pancake Breakfast, for an article I am writing for the next Green Bluff Gazette magazine. So since I had them, here are Steve and I in action!

We really love being part of the crew, and we raised $1,200 on Sunday toward our scholarship program budget. Steve’s job is keeping the scrambled eggs flowing (honestly, his eggs are amazing and get constant complements and requests for seconds). I’m part of the less-glamorous server crew, though I’m pictured here doing one of my end-of-shift duties, refilling the syrups. Hey - it takes intense concentration! I am content with my non-cooking role, though Steve has his eye on being the Griddle Master some day. Unfortunately (well, actually fortunately) that role has been filled for the past 40+ years by the same great guy and his late father. So it’s not an easy one to move into!
