One more lavender craft
After being elbow-deep in harvesting lavender the other day, I wanted to try one more tiny lavender-scented craft: wardrobe tablets. These are little lavender oil-infused wax “tags” that can hang on hangers or in closets. Like a drawer sachet for your hanging wardrobe. Wax can really “lock in” the lavender essence and outlast traditional fabric sachets. And when the scent fades, you just break up the wax table and melt it and make a new one.
They are also cute and simple - just melt a little beeswax, add some lavender essential oil (I just got two bottles from the lavender field last week), pour it into a shallow “tag” style silicone mold, drop in a few sprigs on top (mostly for looks, but also for scent), and let it sit for an hour or so before unmolding. Add a little ribbon and hang. Very fun and smells yummy!
Melting some wax. This is commercial beeswax, not from my hives.
You can find little silicone molds in ANY shape and size these days - thank you, Amazon!
A little messy, but wax is the most forgiving (and reusable) medium.
Pops right out.
