Newest member of the mower menagerie

It’s a John Deere Green Day around here!

We have a ridiculous collection of mowers taking up most of our shop floor:

  • The Cub Cadet 60” zero-turn dream machine

  • A monster DR field mower, to cut through almost anything, like tall brush in the front or back fields

  • A push mower for cutting the grass paths in the garden

  • Even the big tractor has a blade attachment for drag-mowing the field

But we also need a standard riding mower, because that fancy zero-turn driving mechanism that Steve and Elijah love just mystifies me. Plus we like to mow together (so romantic). Our last Huskvarna rider had reached the end of its useful life (12 fairly rough years), so we sold it a few weeks ago to make way for something new.

Please welcome Green Machine, the newest member of our mower family and our first John Deere product ever. It’s a perfect mower for me because it has a nice wide cut (54”) and a SUPER cushy seat, as well as a strong motor and sturdy construction for our very bumpy and dusty summer fields. Plus it has a gas gauge, a surprisingly important and often missing feature!

Can’t wait to take it for a spin!

Buy a mower and they give you a hat… sweet!
