Neon night out

We have a local artist in Spokane who basically owns the town art-wise. His name is Chris Bovey, and he is known for his stylized renderings of all of the Spokane (and some greater PNW) sites and businesses, very nostalgic stylings.

Well, one of his other related interests is rescuing old neon signs from Spokane landmarks. Once a year he assembles them out in the country and shows them off for one night as his “Neon Boneyard”. Apparently this is the last year he will be doing it, because he has a new home downtown, an old alley he has painted with his murals where he will be able to display his neon collection.

So the four of us went to check it out. We didn’t stay for the formal tour, but it was pretty cool and very colorful!
