More of Cascadia
The first place we had to go once we were up and around (and had had a proper oatmeal breakfast) was back to the Diablo Lake overlooks. I could have spent all day there! Apologies for the repetitive nature photos - I couldn’t help myself.
Then we scared Steve by checking out a pretty high metal bridge overlook and then took a little walk through the Trail of Cedars, an old-growth cedar forest, pretty cool. That place really made me yearn to go visit the giant sequoias in California.
We finally found the visitors center on our way out. I guess it makes sense it would be placed on the Seattle side of the park.
Our last stop of the day was a trip to see Mount Baker, the second most active volcanic mountain on the west coast (behind Mt. St. Helens). Beautiful windy, wooded drive, and pretty impressive payoff at the end.
Milky runoff from the glaciers.
After some antique shopping, lounging, and an RV park shower (the best!) we enjoyed a dinner of sweet chili apricot chicken using some of the jam I made earlier this week. No taking homemade jam through Canadian customs tomorrow!
Not sure if we are trying to wear out Josie or Steve with after-dinner activities.
And you know what comes next - movie night!
