Fire damage

Steve took me on a little tour of some of the areas in Spokane that were destroyed in the recent fires. First, it is amazing to see so many entire sections of Spokane and Spokane County that I had no idea even existed. Neighborhoods, giant bluffs, forests - not a straight or flat road in the bunch.

Second, it is wild to see just how many fires were happening all the same time in different spots. Also to see the rivers and lakes that the fires literally jumped over.

Almost 1,000 structures were destroyed as those fires burned over the course of a week, but amazingly not a single life was lost. And there are cul de sacs where all the houses except one were destroyed and also the opposite - only one house on a street burned.

Here’s one neighborhood that was entirely wiped out. There were SO many more. It’s truly unreal to see in person.
