Evening colors

It never ceases to amaze me how quickly the colors in our skies can come and then go. I just stepped outside to do a quick check of the garden and to close up the chickens, and these colorful skies demanded a few photographs. Clouds to the east were all pink - to the west were sunset orange. By the time I made it back to the house, the whole show was over.

One flower that hasn’t received any airtime lately is the Hollyhocks. This is a flower I used to grow way back in our first house, and then I guess I just forgot about it for a few decades. I tossed in a few random seed packets this year as filler, but perhaps I should elevate these tall, fluffy beauties in my 2027 plan. The colors really complement the pastel zinnias as well as tonight’s skies.
