En route to Nebraska!

Making the most of our 2-day roadtrip to get to the Lukas family reunion at Mahoney State Park. Steve decided to rent a fancy Lincoln Navigator instead of putting the miles on the van, since the final cabin count meant no one ended having to actually sleep in the camper.

It’s a large vehicle, but we were still more than a little cozy, esp with Josie in the third seat area. Though no one seemed to mind too much because our StarLink traveling internet worked GREAT! We mounted the satellite receiver (a flat rectangular piece) in the sunroof window, securing it in by closing the moonroof around it. Perfect reception 100% of the drive. Nothing makes this family happier than uber-fast, reliable internet!

We listened to the audio read of the popular Dungeon Crawler Carl first book, a very engaging listen that the three of them had already read and seem to mention constantly.

We also HAD to stop at BOTH Wall Drugs AND the Mitchell, SD Corn Palace, not to mention Culver’s for a butter burger lunch.

This ceiling setup basically provides a WiFi connection in the car that everyone could connect to.

The unrelenting wind immediately reminded us of what life in the Nebraska country used to be like!

Steve eating his Culver’s burger while driving using the hands-free feature and posing for a picture all at the same time. Yeah, seems safe to us!

We have this wonderful folding staircase for Josie to get in and out of vehicles. While she typically doesn’t eat very much while traveling (unless it’s a Culver burger), she is still a great little traveler and just hunkered down behind Montana and Elijah and slept uneventfully.
