A little more progress, a lot more blooms
Sunday’s deck work plan was short, since Steve had to spend much of the day working with the Sheriff’s crew on Spokane’s 50,000-participation Bloomsday run downtown. But Steve and Elijah managed to get the rest of the posts and external joists all in and, most importantly, level!
Meanwhile we continue to marvel at this year’s apple blossom display. We agree it is the best we have ever seen. Usually there is some big windstorm that blows all of the blossoms off before they are thoroughly appreciated. This year has been unseasonably calm and windless, all the better for enjoying an extended show.
The first of the blossoms are just starting to snow down.
Goats in the background eagerly awaiting for me to finish my photography session so they can be released into the chicken pasture!
View from my reading chair, not too shabby. However, when the kids’ pergola is installed, this view from a seated position will be interrupted!
As I promised my mother, the Garden Goose is properly dressed in a seasonally-appropriate outfit.
Although we all know that most of this greenery comes from dandelions, it does look glorious when it is freshly mowed! And my new John Deere mower is AWESOME - I forgot how helpful a great (and easy) turning radius can be after manhandling that last mower for years. Plus a 52” width is twice what I used to get from the old rider - it takes some visual adjustment to fully believe you are hitting all of the spots with the wider blade.
