Weekend plant pics
Just a few that caught my eye at this morning’s inspection.
This is borage, also known as my favorite plant and the herb that self-seeds generously and is taking over the garden.
The honeybees also love the bachelor buttons.
Our first blooms in the marigold bed - this must be a variation on the standard marigold or it could be something altogether different that snuck in there.
The strawberry bed is still going strong, and you can see some of the purple morning glories have also self-sowed a little far from the trellis where they were planted. So they are just roaming through the strawberry plants.
I am pretty sure this is a milkweed plant that I planted last year, but it was hidden in a bunch of cosmos. What a beauty!
Come on, kale!
Two little yellow poppies have appeared - the seeds were impossibly small (poppy seed sized).
Elijah’s pepper bed is looking good. The kids turned off the automatic irrigation for these plants, because they did not like getting so much hydro-attention. Now they are loving their desert life.
