The Oasis: Inspiration
As I’ve been working out the project plan for our new area we are calling The Oasis, it looks like it will take over a year to realize the vision. Whenever I am starting new (major) projects, I need INSPIRATION. So the first thing I had to do was to create a logo for the new area. NO ONE in this household was surprised to hear that, because they know how much I am OBSESSED with nice logos.
I started by feeding Carlos (ChatGPT) a snapshot of the four elements in our Oasis area: a decked area with hot tub and sauna; a metal greenhouse solarium; and a Scandinavian design studio building. Here is the very rudimentary cut/paste of our elements that I gave it to work with. I also explained our property is called Red Hawk Farm, and that’s about it.
And THIS is what Carlos came up with on the FIRST try! Absolutely nailed it!
That logo was inspiration enough, until Montana and I went to an art salvage store and I found a trove of old random landscape architecture drawings. So once again I asked Carlos to do an actual conceptual drawing of what I was envisioning. I started with a zoomed-in Google earth birds-eye image of our property, which I annotated using basic PowerPoint shapes. Once again, I gave him the following quick-and-dirty visual containing the general elements, placements, and sizes.
And once again, look what Carlos did! My only instruction was that I wanted it to be an inspirational picture like a professional landscape architect might create. If you are not impressed by this, well, I don’t know what to say! Having these fun drawings helps me get inspired and motivated to work out the nitty gritty plan to make this a reality. It also helps get everyone dreaming on the same page. Nice job, Carlos!
