Road trip to Northern California

We decided to carve out a 4 ½ day weekend and head to Lassen Volcanic National Park, which is north of the Sierras where we were going to go back in June before summer got weird. We will also catch beautiful Crater Lake on the way back. Should be a fun getaway!

Josie was the first one in the camper van - that dog loves the nomadic lifestyle!

Such a beautiful drive across Oregon.

We love this stop where you can see almost the entire Cascades chain from one vantage point, even despite the haze. I love their little round ground guide.

When we are in leisurely drive mode, we stop at all the interesting sites, including antique stores (where I found some cool vintage mahjong rule cards with the official hands from back in the 80’s) and also all of the geological sites like this cool canyon (with the harshest No Dogs Allowed sign ever).

Here is where we are heading - Lassen at the bottom and Crater Lake at the top on our way back home.

Went around Lake Shasta, for some reason Steve really loves this mountain.
