Surprise rose

We spend a lot of our lives trying to provide water to things we have planted. At least for the first few years of their lives, we try our best to keep them in life support.

Every once in awhile we completely forget about something, neglect its care completely, and assume it is dead. No big deal. But then every once in awhile we suddenly see a left-for-dead plant come bursting into life! We have a little walnut tree (okay, stick) that just won’t give up.

Well, here is another example -we planted 3 climbing roses on the side of the dog shed when we first installed it. And then we built the huge shop which stole a lot of that spot’s sunlight. But lo and behold, 2 of the 3 are still alive, the middle one actually thriving. What a fun surprise! Maybe now we’ll stop by with the water wagon a little more frequently.
