No luck seeing Rainier
Although it seemed like today was going to be a reasonably good day to take in Mount Rainier, that little volcano can be a bit elusive. Blue skies made way for low, thick cloud cover. So while there were still plenty of mountains to be seen, the one really special hike underneath the giant rock was a bust. At least in terms of seeing Rainier. A reasonably good early July day for wildflowers though. Meadows are huge. “Don’t be a meadow stomper” is the park’s unofficial motto. And, after all, it’s any day spent driving around mountains in our sweet little camper van is a good one for us!
Below is how Rainier looked as we approached from the east. Just picture that added to the background of all of the rest of the photos. Maybe we’ll drive over again in August and test our luck again.
