Montana’s amaranth

This is one of my favorite flowers in this year’s garden. Tana says we have tried growing amaranth before, but it probably did not have the irrigation we gave it this year. It is so showy, huge, such dramatic colors on its seed heads and leaves - it’s just really cool.

I will be trying a similar tall, feathery flower next year called celosia, and we will definitely find a spot for more of this red beauty.

As happens too often, these photos do not do it justice!
