Deputy Steve on the job
Tonight was our annual Cherry Pickers Trot and Pit Spit. And while we have no glamorous photos of me recording the spit lengths and handing out participation ribbons, we do have shots of Steve in action. Steve coordinated 14 of his volunteers to close all of the roads (and to keep the locals OFF them) and to maintain the peace while our community ran, walked, and strolled 4 miles in the July heat.

We drove over together (big mistake), but my volunteer duties were over well before Steve’s. So I decided to walk home. Caught a ride with one of Steve’s crew about halfway home, but also caught these amazing evening clouds.
